It had been so long since she’d felt like this, that Leah was certain that at any moment she was going to wake from some dream and be back in that hellish place. She felt oddly free since she’d imprinted despite the fact that she thought it would be suffocating. But it wasn’t. What she’d had before Noah was suffocating. This now was the ability to move on and forget what had happened and create that peace the pack had been longing for ever since she’d first phased.
Of course, Leah was never going to completely give up her position as ‘The Harlot’; after all, teasing the boys was too much fun. But at least she didn’t have to cause them pain, because she wasn’t in pain herself. Yes. Deep down part of her was still angry at Sam and what had happened but at least now they were both on an equal footing.
Smiling slightly she glanced down at her feet as she walked along the streets of downtown Port Angeles. It had been a while since she’d been here but had decided (and because Emily had pushed her so much) that perhaps some new clothes were in order. Some nice ones should she and Noah actually decided to do something nice like go out for a meal. It would have to be an ‘all you can eat buffet’ she thought with a chuckle. Otherwise she dreaded to think what the bill would come to.
However, Leah being Leah had yet to find anything, certain that she’d end up destroying anything decent she bought. And then she froze, her thoughts confirmed that even on a night out she wouldn’t be able to get away from them and phasing. It took all she had not to phase there and then in front of all these people as the smell of vampire hit her. “Shit…” Leah hissed between her teeth, ignoring the complaints from those trying to get past her.
