OVERALL Like his brother, Philip is a joker. He enjoys playing pranks on people but they're almost always harmless. He's always cracking a joke and is generally an all-around friendly guy. Making jokes is sometimes easier than dealing with what's really going on in his mind, which is the constant worry about being found out and rejected, since nobody in his family knows that he's gay yet.
His homosexuality is the one deep secret in Philips closet. He's a generally happy and congenial person who enjoys having a lot of people around him. He wishes that he could come out sooner rather than later, but he's looking for just the right time.

MOTHER Mom is a teacher at La Push High school in La Push. Philip gets along with her okay, but he doesn't feel particularly close to her. He's more fond of his relationship with his father than with his mother.
FATHER Dad is also a teacher at La Push High. Philip gets along very well with his father since he considers himself a man's man.
SIBLINGS Grace, 17 and George, 19 (twin). Philip is totally devoted to his little sister, and though he and his twin brother argue quite a bit, they have a great, jovial relationship with one another as well.

HISTORY
Philip had a great childhood with a very normal family. During a time when a lot of parents were getting divorced, he counted himself very lucky to have them, as well as his siblings. He never wanted for anything and they were all very close, sharing everything with one another. There were summer camping trips and Christmases together and a lot of good times as a family.
Things changed, however, when Philip was fifteen and a sophomore in high school. It was that year that he realized he was gay, and first began to pull away from his family. He wanted some space to work through his feelings himself instead of having everything be right up in your face all the time. He went through a rough time through the rest of his teen years, but things are starting to even out again now that he and George are in college, and he's considering coming out to his family, but he worries about what they will think or that it will be too much stress on Grace since the accident.
