The Words: go here The Outfit: goes here The Notes go here It had been a long two days since he'd last seen Grace, and Jake had wound up pacing the floor in irritation. He was practically burning a hole in the rug as his feet padded back and forth in his sneakers. His father had told him twice to go on and get out of the house, but he hadn't managed to find an excuse. He didn't have Grace's phone number, and that left him with the option of tracking her by her slightly floral scent. It reminded him of the dress she was wearing that day, and of the sun, and... And he had to close his eyes to get control of his insane, rampant thoughts.
"I'm going out!" Jacob called to his father as he grabbed his totally unnecessary coat from the peg by the door and let the rickety door slam behind him. He'd been pacing for hours, and now he took off at a sprint for the treaty line. It didn't matter that he was violating it, given that it had been void for quite some time now. He raced over it and into Forks, the rain splashing against his face as he ran, shoes sloshing in the water until he made it to the two. The rain made it harder, but he could still just follow her scent to the house where Grace lived. He paused, then put his head back, staring up into one of the windows for a moment.
Stooping, he reached down and grabbed a rock, leaning back to toss it at her window. "Grace! Grace come down!" |

Grace had no problems holding her hands up and accepting that her Mother had every right to be upset with her for worrying her in such a way, but she was sure her Mother’s form of punishment was a little extensive. After talking to her brothers on the phone, they happened to agree, her Father however was a different matter and had in fact EXTENDED the length of time she was to be grounded, to all week when he’d found out. So for now Grace was relegated to her room which really, she didn’t mind so much, she was simply missing Jacob. Though this time being cooped up in her room had given her chance to research the Quileute legends, as well as allow her to try and find some more information on the cold ones.
The house was quiet, her parents soundly sleeping in the bedroom down the hall, but Grace found she was far from ready for sleeping, so instead spent her time sitting on her bed, watching some chat show she found when surfing the channels. Releasing a sigh she frowned, quickly muting the television and straining her ears, to listen for the sound again. The sound of something hitting her window made her jump out of bed and make her way over, it hadn’t been the rain she knew that much. Pulling open her curtains she glanced downwards and gasped, there stood on her back lawn in the pouring down rain was Jacob, her heart gave a leap and a smile made its way onto her face, until she realised it was still raining and he was stood out in the cold.
Closing her curtains once more, she slipped on a pair of slipper boots, grabbed her jacket and left her room, quietly making her way across the landing and down the stairs. Once she reached the front door, Grace threw her jacket over her pyjamas and opened the door, bracing herself against the cold when it hit her short clad legs. “Jacob its pouring down what are you doing?”she asked in a hushed tone, ushering him up onto the back porch so she could close the porch door and he could get out of the rain.

The Words: go here The Outfit: goes here The Notes go here "It's not cold," Jacob said to Grace in a hushed voice as he dipped inside the door. Nor was it too wet for him, since he'd grown up all his life in La Push and was used to the local Washington weather. He shook the wet out of his hair and then pulled off his jacket, shaking that out on the porch before closing the door quietly behind him. "I had to see you. What's going on? Grounded?" She hadn't even given him her phone number before so he had no idea of what to expect or how to find her other than to follow his keen sense of scent to her house.
For a moment Jacob stood inside the door, just looking around. He wasn't cold, but it occurred to him that she might be, and he glanced down at her in her pajamas with her jacket on over them. It was hard for him to keep his hands to himself, and he wrapped his right hand around her waist and tucked her up against his body without giving her any warning that he was about to do so. Instead, he dipped in and kissed her lips, but it was only a short kiss, nothing lingering. Still, the electricity was there, the sharp feeling on his mouth, the sharp and surprising taste of her.
"Are your parents asleep?" he asked as he glanced back toward the bedrooms, then shrugged his shoulders. It didn't matter much, and he was too old for the sneaking around. Even he knew it. But right now all he wanted was to drink up the presence of Grace, and it might be better if they didn't know she'd just let a boy into the house. "Do you want to stay here or go out?" he whispered. "We could figure something out to do." |

Mum told Dad who kindly extended the length of time I’m grounded for...” she said with a small shrug. It hadn’t escaped her attention when she left him that day that she had not given him a number, nor had she gotten one from him, she’d just prayed she’d see him again soon somehow and here he was. Suddenly she didn’t feel the cold anymore, it was strange, she’d felt it in the pit of her stomach, possibly deeper as soon as she’d left him, now though it was gone. Before she could say anymore Jacob had wrapped his arm around her waist, pulled her into his body and kissed her softly but way too quickly. Still it caught her off guard slightly, made her heart thunder against her chest and left her slightly breathless.
“Yeah... she answered following his gaze upwards. When he asked if she wanted to stay here or go out, she sighed, she wasn’t too sure but knew she wanted to see him. Going out though was too risky, plus it was late and she wouldn’t want to worry her parents anymore if by some chance they woke up and went to check on her. Usually when they went to sleep, waking them up was almost impossible to do, it’s how the twins had gotten away with so much growing up. Biting down on her lip, Grace reached forward and took Jacobs hand, “Come on we can go upstairs...” she told him, leading him by the hand back into the house.
As quietly as she could she led Jacob through the house, thankful once more her parents were such heavy sleepers. As she walked into her bedroom, she let Jacob walk in before letting go of his hand, turning and locking her bedroom door. Suddenly aware of where they were she felt a blush fill her cheeks as she turned back to Jacob, “By some small chance they wake up I don’t want them finding me gone...that’ll mean being grounded till I’m at least 30!” she joked shooting him a small smile, as she went over to her bed, retrieved the remote and turned the volume to the television down slightly. "How'd you find me?" she asked curiously.

The Words: go here The Outfit: goes here The Notes go here "Don't want that," Jacob said as he reached for Grace's hand, letting her fingers just slip through his experimentally as he finally sighed and followed her up the stairs. There were snoring noises coming from one of the rooms, and he winced, ducking his head as he slipped into her room after her and then turned to look around the space. It was nice, and it made him think of her. It certainly smells like her. For a moment he had to close his eyes and memorize that scent.
It would be better if they could get out, but other than taking her home (where Billy would likely have a fit), he couldn't come up with anything. Being here meant being especially quiet, and he wasn't known for that talent. Not at all. "So you're figuring next week you're off the hook?" he whispered to her, sitting down on the bed and reaching for her hand so that he could pull her to him again, a bit more forward now that he was relaxing. "I thought I could take you out to dinner or maybe see a movie or something. You know? What do you think?" |

With a shrug of her shoulders, she sat on his left side, glancing at the television momentarily before turning back to him with a smile, “Yes definitely next week, there’s only so long they can keep me locked up without me driving them mental, they wouldn’t dare extend it again.” She said with a nod of her head.
At his suggestion Grace smiled softly, looking down at their hands as she nodded her head and looked back up, “A movie sounds good...” she agreed, it would be nice, and she’d love to spend more time with just him but did that mean she wouldn’t see him till then? She frowned at the thought and stood from the bed, making her way over to the desk, quickly jotting down her phone number on some paper. As she turned she pulled a face and kicked off her slipper boots which had gotten slightly damp on the bottom, downstairs. With that she returned to the bed, sat down beside Jacob tucking her legs beneath her and handing him the slip of paper, “My number, just in case you know...you want to talk before then...” she shrugged lightly as she trailed off.

Jake closed his eyes and let his head fall back slightly, then gave Grace a gentle tug until she either had to resist him or fall down into his lap where he could hold onto her. Once more he sighed, but it was a guise to let him drink in her scent again, and he just hugged her for a moment, thinking about their situation. He didn't take her number at first, since taking it would make him feel as though he had to leave, and he just wasn't ready to. "What about school?" he suggested, this time in a more normal tone of voice, cocking his head at her curiously and raising both of his eyebrows. "I mean, you go to Forks High, right? I could meet you there, before you can get home. I could even take you home, if you don't mind..." He let his voice trail off, then shrugged his shoulders. "Your mom works at the res school. What about your dad? What's he do? Any siblings?"
There was so much yet to learn about one another, and this was just a a start for Jacob. "I've got two sisters. Twins. Rachel and Rebecca. Rachel got married a few years ago. They're three years older. Mom's dead and I live with my dad. So. What about you?" He nudged her, wanting to know about her more than he'd ever wanted to know about another human being in his life. |

Grace gasped slightly when he tugged her onto his lap; once again it was a too familiar position considering they still barely knew one another. It wasn’t hard to figure out, even after spending two minutes with him when they first met, that Jacob was an extremely physical person, he seemed to have to be able to touch someone at all times, whether it be slight brushing of the fingers, holding hands, carrying...anything really. When he began firing the questions at her she laughed softly and shook her head, “Yes I do, and my Dad’s actually a teacher there as well but I really don’t want to put you out, I’m sure you have plenty of other things to be doing instead of picking me up from school every day,” she said, though she’d admit the idea did have appeal.
When he began to talk about his family she frowned, the news of his Mother being dead saddened her, she was still lucky enough to have her parents with her. When he nudged her she shrugged, “I have two older siblings, both 19, they’re twins as well. Phillip and George...they’re in Washington University at the moment...biggest pair of troublemakers your ever likely to meet but they’re amazing..always there for me when I need them no questions asked,” she said fondly, she really did miss her brothers since they’d moved away, “When my parents and I were in that car crash, they were home within hours, didn’t move from my bedside in hospital till I was allowed home...” she chuckled remembering how mental they’d driven the nurses.

The Words: go here The Outfit: goes here The Notes go here He'd be in Forks anyway, keeping an eye on the vampire situation there. In spite of the tensions, the Cullens still hadn't gotten the message and moved out of town, but the pack hadn't been successful in pinning them yet. It disturbed him and it upset him, but he bit back the irritation as he held Grace in his lap for a moment, running his hand up and down her back while he considered what she'd said. If her parents were both teachers at the school, he wondered whether or not he knew them. But he'd been done for two years already, and maybe he didn't. Or maybe they wouldn't remember him either way. It didn't matter, but it did post a point of curiosity. "I don't mind taking you home from school," he said. "I have to come out here anyway. There's a... a situation in Forks that we like to keep an eye on. Me and the others like me. So I'll be here anyway."
He listened as she spoke about her brothers, the corners of his lips twitching slightly, though there was an ache for his mother in his own chest. It took a moment for him to let the feeling pass, but he smiled at her. "Yeah, I miss my sisters sometimes. Rebecca sometimes comes to visit, but... Not often enough." He shrugged his shoulders, then glanced back around the room. The girls weren't shifters since the genes were carried down the male line. Leah was an anomaly of course. He thought of her briefly, then shook his head, blocking out the pack thoughts from his mind.

Grace inclined her head to the side slightly as she regarded him for a moment, “What kind of situation?” she asked, the fingers on her right hand playing with one of the buttons of his shirt as she spoke. Really she wasn’t aware she was doing it as she looked up at him with a small smile, a light blush tinting her cheeks, “It would be...great though, to see you some more...” she nodded her head as she spoke softly, diverting her eyes to the television screen before she looked at him once more. “Your going to be around a lot then?” she added hopefully, tucking her hair behind her ear.
“Visiting isn’t the same as them being here all the time though is it...” she said knowingly, her other arm unconsciously going to rest around his shoulders, as she leaned against him. She really did miss her brothers and really wished they’d visit just that little bit more. Not only because they took the pressure off her with her parents, but they made everything better just being around. Looking at Jacob she smiled softly, “I think they’d like you...though they wouldn’t show it at first knowing those two.” she laughed lightly.
At his question though Emily smiled again, “That’s a question that will take a long time to answer but I love the going to the theatre, watching the ballet...erm I could go on forever I think..I do a lot of running, before school in the mornings. I do singing, mostly musicals, I’m also a dancer, ballet mostly but Mom’s made sure I’m can pretty much do all forms of dance...better my chances she says.” she told him trailing off when she realised she’d gone on a bit. “How about you...when your not turning into a wolf and chasing...Vampires...what do you like to do?” she asked, biting down on her lip.
