With a height of five foot three, Makayla’s long legs exaggerate her petite figure making her seem tall and lush from a far distance. She has a soft skin complexion made up of a mixture of all different olive tones which she loves to lather over with Cocoa Butter or Shea Butter. She has a curvy overall figure which she keeps slim by going for long runs along the coast and through town each and every morning. Makayla has a belly button piercing which she got when she was sixteen; she usually just keeps a simple gemstone in it – nothing big and fancy.

Makayla has a small, soft face with a strong jaw line and plump, pink lips. But the feature that sticks out most is her eyes; Kayla’s eyes are full and round and often remind people of molten chocolate swirling around. Everyone seems to become lost in them when talking to her and it is easy to tell her emotion from them, whether she is sad or happy. Makayla’s hair varies in length and appearance, depending what she does with it. She cuts it often, but it grows back extremely quick, being thick and a lush, tropical brown verging on black.

Makayla is a gentle, sensitive person with a deep understanding of people and a very tolerant, accepting, non-judgmental approach towards life. In a noisy, competitive atmosphere Makayla is often receding and withdrawn for she is not an aggressive, forceful person, and she intensely dislikes conflict. In fact Kayla tends to be somewhat passive, to wait, watch, observe, feel and know much - but to act little. Letting things resolve or work themselves out in their own way, rather than directing or forcing her will upon them is often Makayla’s way of dealing with problems.

Because she is very giving and forgiving, people sense Makayla’s sympathetic nature and gravitate toward her when in need. Often Makayla will continue to give to people even when she realizes they are taking advantage of her or becoming overly dependent upon her. Makayla overlooks and makes excuses for other people's weaknesses, and for her own as well. Discrimination and self-discipline are not Makayla’s strong points.

Though she may be as intelligent as anyone else, she does not really have a rational, logical approach toward life, and trying to reach Makayla through logical arguments is often futile. Her feelings, intuition, and heart, not her head, lead her, which may infuriate or bewilder Makayla’s more rational friends. Makayla certainly recognizes that there is much more to life than can be explained intellectually and categorized into neat little boxes, and she has an open, receptive attitude toward such areas as psychic phenomena, telepathy, parapsychology, etc. She is not as structured and rigid in her attitudes as many people are, which enables Makayla to see many different points of view and to accept all of them as valid. This can lead to vagueness, uncertainty, and confusion on her part - or to a very flexible and holistic way of approaching any issue.

There is a certain intensity, charisma or compelling attractiveness about Makayla that may have little to do with her physical features. It is energy, a subtle sexuality that she emanates. Moreover, she tends to do everything wholeheartedly and with passion, which is quite fascinating to other people. Her instincts and psychological perceptions about others are quite incisive.

When Makayla was fourteen years old, she moved to Fork’s –Washington with her widowed father. They had lost her mother in a plane crash when she was travelling back from New York to Florida, where they lived. Charles decided his daughter and he needed a new life so they packed their bags and caught the next plane to Seattle, then discovered Forks and decided it was the right place.

Over the years, Makayla has been quiet and refined in school, she hasn’t got many friends and at break times she prefers to sit under a tree somewhere reading a book and listening to her i-pod full of Indie music.

Before her mother died, Makayla was outgoing and bubbly, but now she is very hushed and gentle with everything she does. She goes home to make her father his dinner because he is a terrible cook and she then spends her time in the forest walking around on her own until she finds a great perch in which she sits and reads.

Since her mother died, Makayla and her father’s relationship have slowly broken down and he is often not home when she returns home from school. She originally wondered where he went, but now she doesn’t really care and she leaves his dinner covered up inside the microwave.

Makayla has never really had any friends, but the friends she had in Florida where very close to her. She does miss her close friends, Amber's witty mind frame and Jenna's humorous comments. When Makayla left, these where the only friends that kept in contact, but as time has evolved this contact has broken down just like her relationship with her father.
